DDC approves Rs 6277.53 lakh district capex budget for FY 2025–26 | | | Early Times Report
REASI, Aug 5: The District Development Council (DDC) Reasi, chaired by DDC Chairperson Saraf Singh Nag, today approved the District Capex Budget of Rs 6277.53 lakh for the financial year 2025–26. The budget includes Rs 1147.34 lakh for ongoing works and Rs 5130.19 lakh for new development proposals, aimed at accelerating infrastructure development and service delivery. The meeting was attended by MLA Reasi Kuldeep Raj Dubey, MLA Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Baldev Raj Sharma, Vice Chairperson DDC Sajra Qadir, ADDC Reasi Sukhdev Singh Samyal, DDC Members and senior district officials. Chairperson Saraf Singh Nag commended the consistent efforts of council members and line departments. He called for regular monitoring and strict quality control. He also directed a detailed inquiry into the NHM building at Pouni and instructed the Health Department to maintain proper documentation. Vice Chairperson Sajra Qadir highlighted the need for constructing a two-storey building at Government High School Lar. Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar delivered a presentation covering the district’s development status, achievements and investment priorities. Council members actively raised local concerns. DDC Panthal sought funding for school playgrounds and infrastructure, along with road and bridge upgradation. DDC Ransoo demanded playgrounds in Pouni and Ransoo. DDC Thakrakote pointed out delays in sanctioned school building work. DDC Pouni highlighted staff shortages at PHC Pouni and the urgent need for hdand pump repairs. DDC Reasi stressed canal repairs, road connectivity and the need to verify all works. The ADDC stressed time-bound completion and quality adherence. He noted the Capex Plan was prepared with department and stakeholder input. MLA Reasi emphasised the importance of project inspections to ensure transparency. Both MLAs urged timely, quality execution and community engagement. The Council resolved to prioritise capital investment in sectors such as Education, Health, ICDS, PDD and RDD. With the plan now approved, the district administration will begin implementation to ensure swift and impactful development. |
