| Police Initiates proclamation proceedings against absconding accused | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Aug 5: Police Station Billawar has initiated proclamation proceedings under Section 87 of the Jammu & Kashmir Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) against an absconding accused in FIR No. 68/2019, registered under Sections 380/511 RPC at Police Station Billawar.
The accused, who has been evading arrest despite repeated efforts, has been identified as:
Bhushan Kumar S/o Punoo Ram, R/o Dher, Tehsil Billawar, District Kathua.
As part of the legal procedure, proclamation notices under Section 87 J&K CrPC were affixed at the accused’s last known residence. Additionally, public proclamation was carried out in his native locality through drum beating and loudspeaker announcements, directing the accused to appear before the Hon’ble Court within the stipulated time period. The proceedings were executed by the police team of PS Billawar, led by SHO PS Billawar Insp Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of the SDPO Billawar, and overall guidance of the Worthy SSP Kathua.
Police have appealed to the general public to provide any information regarding the whereabouts of the absconder to the nearest police station. Strict legal action shall be taken against any individual found harbouring or assisting the accused, as per law.
