| Rs.3 cr garbage disposal plant to come up at Vaishno Devi base camp: Verma | | | Early Times report
Jammu, May 3- The Jammu and Kashmir government has proposed to set up Rupees three crore garbage disposal system at Katra- the base camp of the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. District Development Commissioner Reasi Sanjeev Verma said today that the proposed garbage disposal plant will cater to the needs of Katra town - base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. Over 70 lakh pilgrims visit the shrine annually generating huge quantity of garbage," he said adding that over 12 acres of land has been allotted for the purpose by Municipal Committee Katra. Besides this, government has also proposes various development plans for the beautification of Katra town. For augmentation of drinking water supply to the town, the Rs 73 crore project envisaging to supply12 lakh gallons, has been submitted by the Public Health Engineering department for approval, he added.
