NSF pays tributes to Rabindranath Tagore | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 7: National Secular Forum (NSF), Jammu unit today paid rich tributes to Rabindranath Tagore on his death anniversary. A programme in this connection was organized wherein Dr Vikas Sharma Coordinator Jammu District and Secretary Central Zone JKNC was the Chief Guest while Sukhdev Singh State President NSF, Presided over the function. Vikshay Vashist, Secretary NSF, was the guest of honour. The activists of NSF paid tributes to Rabindranath Tagore and garlanded the portraits of the son of soil. Speaking on the occasion Dr Vikas Sharma threw light on the life history of Rabindranath Tagore and appreciated the efforts of NSF and appealed to the youth to come forward to eliminate all evils from the society. He also said that the right tribute to Rabindranath Tagore would be to launch the struggle for restoration of full status of Jammu and Kashmir State. While Speaking Sukhdev Singh stressed upon the youth to shun their self-centered outlook and contribute to the development of the nation. He also threw light on the achievements of Rabindranath Tagore who was a Bengali poet, philosopher, artist, playwright, composer, novelist and India’s first Nobel laureate. Vikshay Vashist in his speech said that such great people could not be ignored. Abhishek Uppal Chairman Jammu Unit delivered the welcome address; Gourav Partap Singh University Unit President was delivering the vote of thanks. |
