HC reiterates protocol on station leave, warns of disciplinary action | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 7: Taking a grim view of continued disregard for protocol, the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has issued a stern circular directing all judicial officers to refrain from leaving their station or headquarters without obtaining prior permission from the competent authority. The move comes after repeated violations were observed despite earlier circulars on the matter. The issue was placed before the Chief Justice, who has expressed serious concern and directed the Registrar General (Camp) at Jammu to re-emphasize strict compliance. The fresh circular, categorically warns that any non-compliance will attract disciplinary action under rules. "It is being repeatedly observed that Judicial Officers often leave their stations without seeking prior permission…in blatant violation of explicit circulars," the circular reads, reiterating that such conduct will not be tolerated. Principal District and Sessions Judges across the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh have been asked to circulate the directive to all judicial officers within their jurisdiction. The communication has also been shared with the Registrar Vigilance, Judicial Academy, and other wings of the High Court for necessary action. (JNF) |
