Shiv Kumar, IPS, today conducted a comprehensive security review and inspected the ongoing full-dress rehearsals for the upcoming 15th August Independence Day celebrations. The DIG visited the parade ground where he personally oversaw the rehearsal proceedings and interacted with the participating contingents. A detailed on-ground meeting was held with all officers involved in the coordination and execution of the event. The rehearsal witnessed active participation from various contingents including school students, NCC cadets, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), all performing under the command and control of the Nodal Officer, Shri Raj Singh Gouria, JKPS, Commandant IRP 18th Battalion. Among the key officers present during the review were SP Vishal Manhas, SP Usman, DySP Tilak Raj, DySP Basanti Bhat (Security), along with Probationary DySPs and PSIs. DIG Shiv Kumar emphasized the importance of flawless coordination and high alertness to ensure smooth conduct of the national event. He appreciated the dedication and discipline of the participating contingents and directed officers to maintain high standards of preparedness and professionalism.
