Reasi police books unauthorized Pithu operator on SMVD track | | | Early Times Report REASI, Aug 7: Continuing its strict enforcement of rules and regulations along the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) track, Reasi Police have booked one unauthorized Pithu operator for violating official guidelines issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Katra. During routine patrolling today, a person coming from Sameer Point towards Banganga along with a Pithu was stopped by the patrolling team for questioning. Upon inquiry, the individual identified himself as Balbir Singh S/o Baldev Singh R/o Jhandi Pannasa, Tehsil Thakrakote, District Reasi. When asked to produce a valid service card authorizing him to work as a Pithu operator, he admitted that he did not possess any such registration and was operating on the track without authorization, assuming he would not be questioned. Operating as a Pony/Pithu operator without a valid service card constitutes a clear violation of the notification issued by the SDM Katra. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 225/2025 U/S 223(a) BNS has been registered at Police Station Katra, and further investigation is underway. Reasi Police urges all service providers operating along the SMVD track to strictly adhere to the rules and maintain valid authorization to avoid legal consequences. |
