Early Times Report LUCKNOW, Aug 8: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is persistently taking essential steps toward making the state a one trillion-dollar economy. As part of this initiative, the Yogi government is running various schemes to make the state's youth self-reliant and to provide opportunities for self-employment. Among these, the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan has become the top choice for the youth of Uttar Pradesh. This can be ascertained from the fact that nearly 2 lakh applications have already been received in just four months of the current financial year, while the Yogi government had set a target of 1.5 lakh applications for the year 2025-26. These numbers clearly show that the scheme is attracting youth in the state, and they are realising their entrepreneurial dreams by availing a loan through the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan. While Jaunpur has topped the state in the number of loans distributed to 1,385, Azamgarh and Lucknow have secured second and third place in the state. Uttar Pradesh's Yogi government is the only state government that not only emphasises employing its youth but also facilitates them in achieving their entrepreneurial dreams. As a result, in just four months of the financial year 2025-26, 1,96,004 youth have applied for loans across the state against the target of 1.5 lakh. Of these, 1,58,595 applications have been forwarded to banks. Acting swiftly upon these applications, the banks have approved 45,463 applications, of which 42,128 youth have already received the loan amount. In comparison, during the previous financial year 2024-25, 1,78,662 applications were received against a target of 1 lakh, with 1,44,273 forwarded to banks. Over 40,000 applications were approved, and more than 28,000 youth received loans. The MSME department had approved a budget of Rs 113 crore as margin money for facilitating youth in the state. Elaborating on Jaunpur securing the top position in distributing maximum loans under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, Jaunpur District Magistrate, Dr. Dinesh Chandra Singh, stated that a special drive has been launched in the district to align with CM Yogi's vision, ensuring that banks provide loans to youth for self-employment. For the current financial year, the district was given a target of distributing loans to 2,200 youth. In the last four months, 4,598 applications were received, of which 3,623 were forwarded to banks. Out of these, 1,385 loans have already been disbursed. Similarly, Azamgarh, which has secured the second rank in the state, has secured 3,565 applications against the target of 2,200.
