Indian Army organized an Awareness Talk on Drug Abuse | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Aug 9: The Indian Army organized an Awareness Talk on Drug Abuse at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Kotranka. The event was conducted under the theme, "Protecting the Youth and Promoting the Welfare of Humanity." Drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking are serious issues affecting societies worldwide. Drug abuse refers to the harmful or excessive use of substances for non-medical purposes, leading to physical, mental and social harm. Illicit drug trafficking involves the illegal production, distribution and sale of drugs, resulting in numerous adverse consequences for individuals and communities. Addressing the intertwined challenges of drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking requires a multi-faceted and holistic approach. Governments, communities, healthcare providers, law enforcement agencies and individuals all play crucial roles in prevention, intervention and treatment efforts. Drug abuse has wide-ranging harmful impacts on the health and well-being of individuals, families and society as a whole. The awareness lecture was attended by a total of 30 participants, including 12 boys, 15 girls and 3 teachers.
