Gdc R S Pura organises Mega Iec Campaign

R.S Pura, Aug 11: Government Degree College (GDC), R. S. Pura, in collaboration with the District Administration Jammu, organised a Mega Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign against drug abuse today. The event marked a significant step in spreading awareness and mobilising community support in the fight against the growing menace of substance abuse. The campaign witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, civil society representatives, and local administration officials. The proceedings of the event were carried out by Prof. Rajinder Singh, HOD Punjabi. The resource persons of the event were Dr. Ekta Sudan, Medical officer SDH R. S. Pura, Mrs. Sarika Sudan, Teacher, GHS Haripur and Mr. Sohan Singh Chib, Sr. Lecturer HSS Sai. They commended the efforts of GDC R. S. Pura and emphasised the need for collective action to curb drug abuse. “Awareness and education are our most powerful tools in combating this social evil. Today’s campaign is a vital step toward empowering our youth with knowledge and resilience,” they stated.
Principal of GDC R. S. Pura, Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, expressed gratitude to the District Administration and all stakeholders involved. “This campaign is not just an event, but a movement toward building a drug-free society. Our institution is committed to continuing this mission through regular awareness programs and community outreach,” they said. The whole event was coordinated by Prof. Neelam Kumari, Convener Drug De-addiction Committee and the formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Akrity Parihar, Assistant Professor EVS. The event concluded with a strong message of unity and resolve, with all participants taking a pledge to stay drug-free and support those battling addiction.
