Govt Degree College, Paloura observed National Anti-Ragging Day | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 12: GDC, Paloura observed National Anti Ragging Day under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Kulvinder Kour, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring a safe and respectful campus environment. The programme commenced with an orientation session, where Geetanjali Multani, Associate Professor and convener Anti Ragging Committee of the College delivered an insightful presentation on the meaning of ragging, its legal implications, and its damaging psychological and social consequences. This was followed by an interactive session in which students actively shared their views, experiences, and suggestions to create a ragging-free atmosphere. In her address, the Principal of the College, Dr. Kulvinder Kour emphasized the importance of mutual respect, empathy, and zero tolerance towards any form of harassment. She urged students to act as ambassadors of positive campus culture and to report any incident of ragging without fear. The programme concluded with all participants taking a solemn pledge to uphold the dignity of every individual and contribute to maintaining a safe learning environment. The entire programme was compared by Saloni, a student of semester - III of the College. As per the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the College will also be conducting a week-long series of awareness activities to further strengthen the anti-ragging movement on campus. |
