VIJAYPUR, Aug 12: In the spirit of patriotic fervor and community service, NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur organized a Cleanliness Drive today as a part of the ongoing Independence Day celebrations 2025 and the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under the aegis of Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme. The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students, who came together to clean the college campus and its surroundings, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The program began with a brief address by Principal of the college, Dr Ashu Vashisht, who highlighted the importance of cleanliness as not just a physical act, but a civic responsibility. He also emphasized the relevance of such initiatives in inspiring youth to take active roles in nation-building and community development.
NSS volunteers and students' raised slogans promoting cleanliness and patriotism. They cleaned classrooms, corridors, gardens, and nearby areas. The event aimed to instill a sense of discipline, responsibility, and unity among participants, in line with the values promoted during the Independence Day celebrations. This initiative was undertaken under the banner of Har Ghar Tiranga, which encourages citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes as a mark of respect and pride. The college has planned a series of patriotic and community-centered activities leading up to the 15th of August.
