MCM hosts Book Exhibition to mark National Librarians' Day | | | Early Times Report CHANDIGARH, Aug 12: The Library Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women inaugurated a two-day Book Exhibition to commemorate National Librarians' Day, observed on the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, revered as the Father of Library Science in India. The exhibition aims to celebrate the invaluable role of libraries in fostering knowledge, research, and intellectual growth. A curated selection of books provided the students and faculty an opportunity to engage with the wealth of resources on diverse subjects. The inaugural day drew enthusiastic participation from students and staff members, who explored and purchased books across various disciplines. Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma said that libraries are the heartbeat of academic institutions, and this exhibition is a tribute to Dr. Ranganathan's vision of making knowledge accessible to all. She added that beyond being repositories of books, libraries are spaces that inspire creativity, encourage critical thinking, and nurture a lifelong love for reading. |
