JAMMU, Aug 12: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has issued a directive mandating strict adherence to prescribed uniform norms for all its officers and officials, warning that violations will invite disciplinary proceedings.
In a circular issued today, Registrar General (Officiating) M.K. Sharma expressed concern over instances where employees, including personal staff attached to officers of the Registry, staff of the eCourts/IT section, orderlies, ushers and drivers, were attending duties in casual attire instead of the designated uniform.
"This practice is causing indiscipline and adversely affecting the smooth functioning of the Hon'ble High Court," the circular stated, emphasising that compliance with uniform rules was mandatory for all categories of staff, gazetted and non-gazetted alike.
The order directs all controlling officers to ensure that employees under their supervision follow the dress code strictly. "Non-compliance shall be viewed seriously and may invite disciplinary action," Registrar General M.K. Sharma cautioned.
The directive takes immediate effect, with copies forwarded to the Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice, Registrar Vigilance, Registrar Judicial, Member Secretaries of the J&K and Ladakh Legal Services Authorities, Director J&K Judicial Academy, Registrar Computers, and other relevant officials for enforcement.
