| District police Reasi recovers 34 rolls of banned 'Gattu' thread in Katra | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, Aug 12: In a firm action against the sale and use of banned nylon 'Gattu' thread, District Police Reasi today recovered 34 rolls of the prohibited material from the possession of Amit Kumar S/O Darshan Kumar R/O Ward No. 11, Matyal, Katra.
The recovery was made by Police Station Katra during a special drive to curb the illegal stocking and sale of nylon string, which poses serious threats to human life, birds and the environment.
In this regard, FIR No. 228/2025 U/S 223 BNS has been registered at P/S Katra and investigation has been initiated.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO P/S Katra Insp. Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhism Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Katra Vipan Chandran-JKPS
SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS reiterated its commitment to enforcing the ban on nylon 'Gattu' thread and urged the public to report any instances of its sale or use to the nearest police station. The police also appealed to citizens to adopt safe and environment-friendly alternatives. |
