Early Times Report KATHUA, Aug 12: Continuous heavy rains have led to the demolition of the old footbridge in Nagri village, Kathua, cutting off access across the canal and causing severe inconvenience to residents. Locals said the bridge, which connected the village to nearby areas, had been in use for decades and was vital for daily commuting. With its collapse, people are now forced to take longer alternate routes, impacting school children, office-goers, and farmers alike. Tehsildar Nagri, Anna Jamwal, has taken swift action by alerting the concerned department to initiate immediate repair or reconstruction work. She has also appealed to residents to avoid unsafe crossings and use designated alternative routes until the bridge is restored.
