| FICCI FLO JKL launches STEM workshop series covering six schools in Jammu | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 12: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh (JKL) today inaugurated a three-day STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) workshop series aimed at encouraging young girls to explore careers in these fields. The initiative, led by Varuna Anand, past Chairperson and National Initiative Head Partnership and Collaboration, accompanied by Nandita Bajaj, Secretary, representing the present Chairperson Aarti Chowdhary, commenced successfully with its first session at KC Public School and GD Goenka School in Jammu.
Addressing the participants, Varuna Anand said, "In the next few days, our team will be visiting Model Academy, Heritage School, JK Public School, and Jodhamal Public School, engaging hundreds of students in interactive STEM activities."
Aarti Chowdhary, in her message, said that the workshops are being facilitated by expert counsellors from Delhi and Dr Poonam Abrol from KVK Jammu, who are introducing innovative and hands-on learning experiences to make STEM subjects more engaging and accessible. The program focuses particularly on motivating girls to break stereotypes and pursue higher education and careers in science and technology sectors.
Aarti Choudhary further highlighted that the initiative aligns with a national directive and is close to the vision of the Hon'ble Prime Minister, who has been advocating for increased participation of girls in STEM disciplines. "We believe that nurturing interest at the school level will empower more young women to lead in technology and innovation in the future," she added.
FICCI FLO JKL's STEM outreach is part of its broader mission to promote education, skill development, and gender equality across the region. By covering six prominent schools in Jammu, the program aims to lay a strong foundation for young minds and inspire the next generation of women leaders in STEM. |
