| 2 KU students to visit US for leadership program | | | Early Times report Srinagar, May 4- In the wake of initiatives taken by the University of Kashmir, two varsity students would be visiting the United States for the prestigious South Asian Undergraduate Student Leaders program. The selected students include Naveed Iqbal of English Department and Rizwan Javeed Sheikh, the student of BA LLB. “Naveed Iqbal will be going to University of Alabama, Huntsville while Rizwan Javeed will be going to Green Rive Community College, Seattle, for a youth leadership program,” readsthe communiqué to the varsity from Geetha Rajagopal, Cultural Affairs Assistant (Exchanges) at American Centre of US Embassy, New Delhi. The program shall be held from June 28 to August 9. Congratulating the selectees, the KU vice-chancellor, Prof Riyaz Punjabi said the program would expose students to nuances of youth leadership. “I am hopeful the program would benefit the students in a big way by enhancing their skills and capability in the concerned field,” he said.
