5/4/2009 11:36:37 PM
Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 4- Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather today said that no increase, whatsoever, has been affected in the toll tax and rumours being circulated to this effect are totally baseless and ill-founded.
The Finance Minister was reacting to rumours in the traders and fruit growers’ circles that government has enhanced the toll tax rates. Rather declared it totally imaginary and untrue. He said no change has been made in the toll tax structure and asked the traders, growers and others not to give any heed to such rumours. H said there could be the hand of vested interests in creating confusion in the trading community. He denounced the rumour mongers for misleading the people by false propaganda.
