| JK Bank opens 246th ATM at Udhampur | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, MAY 04- Jammu and Kashmir Bank opened its 246th Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at Slathia Chowk, Udhampur on Monday. The Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. Ajay Khajuria formally inaugurated the ATM in the presence of Vice-President, Jammu and Kashmir Bank Zonal Office, Jammu, Mr. A.R. Rashid and Senior Executive Manager, Udhampur, Mohammad Ibrahim Malik. Appreciating the J&K Bank authorities for opening up ATM service in the town, the District Development Commissioner said that this would facilitate the customers to encash the money round the clock besides easing burden on bank counters. Accolading the performance of the Bank in providing best possible services to its customers, the Dy. Commissioner said that the functioning of the bank on all fronts has improved by leaps and bounds during recent years both in infrastructure, technology and customer services in and outside the State. He also had a word of praise for the new initiative of J&K Bank in respect of “No fill account” which has provided a great opportunity to the rural labour community engaged in National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGA) to open their account in the State. The bank has commendable involvement in different sectors for the development of the State, the Dy. Commissioner said. Vice- President, Mr. Rashid said that the bank has opened 5th ATM in district Udhampur for the convenience of its customers. He thanked the Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur for extending timely help in allocating a piece of land for housing ATM service in the heart of the city. He said that bank is committed to provide best banking services throughout the country through its different schemes. Mr. Rashid said that J&K Bank provides direct or indirect employment to the educated youth of the State by extending loan facilities in setting up of the employment ventures or educational loan for professional and higher studies. He also highlighted the new initiative of the J&K to absorb educated youth under Self-employment through Common Service Centers in Information-Technology (IT) sector. Presenting vote of thanks, Mr. Malik said that J&K Bank is playing a pivotal role for the transformation of socio-economic status of poor as well extending loan facilities to educated unemployed for establishment of their own units in the district. He also gave detailed resume of different schemes for the benefits of its customers. Among others, Assistant Commissioner (R), Rajesh Sharma, Chief Planning Officer, H. H. Dutt, District Treasury Officer, Ashok Singh, Manager J&K Bank Main Branch, Udhampur, Manager Shakti Nagar Branch and bank employees were present on the occasion.
