Early Times Report Srinagar, May 05- Hectic electioneering has been witnessed in Kashmir province with 928 rallies held across four Parliamentary constituencies in Kashmir division, out of which 315 public meetings were organized in Srinagar constituency alone by various political parties and contesting candidates from the date of issuance of poll schedule announced by Election Commission on March 2 till campaigning ended today evening. In Kashmir division, out of 928 election rallies held by various political parties and candidates, 560 have been large and medium rallies. In the State as a whole, 1,880 public meetings have been held so far with 952 held in Jammu province where polling for two Lok Sabha has already been held. Campaigning for Srinagar Lok Sabha seat, which came to an end today evening, was high profile with national and state leaders of various political parties addressing elections rallies. They included Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Minister for Water Resources Prof. Saifuddin Soz, former Chief Ministers, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Ghulam Nabi Azad. In Srinagar Parliamentary constituency, out of the 315 election rallies held across 15 Assembly segments, NC organized 161, PDP 110, Congress 17, ANC 12, BJP 3, CPI (M), SP and PDF 2 each, NC (P) and independents 1 each. As many as 195 public meetings were large and medium with 85 held in Srinagar segment, 92 in Budgam and 18 in Ganderbal. As far as Kashmir Division is concerned, of the total 918 election rallies so far, NC organized 395, PDP 351, Congress 74, PC (S) 23, ANC 21, LUTF 7, BJP and SWP 6 each, PDF and CPI (M) 5 each, JK Democratic Party (N) and People’s National Front 4 each, NCP 3, Lok Janshakti, BSP and IJP 2 each, J&K Awami Party and NPP 1 each and independents 9. As far as district-wise break up of 315 rallies held in Srinagar Parliamentary constituency is concerned, 165 rallies were held in Srinagar, 128 in Budgam and 22 in Ganderbal district. On the last day of campaigning in Srinagar Parliamentary constituency today, as many as 35 rallies and road-shows were organized by various political parties and contesting candidates.
