Early Times report Srinagar, May 05- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condoled the sad demise of Member of the Constituent Assembly and former legislator Mansukh Rai, who passed away today morning after a brief illness. Rai was the father of former Minister and MLA, Jagjeevan Lal. Paying rich tributes to Rai, the Chief Minister said his death has left a void in the political circle of the State which will be difficult to fill up. Expressing sympathy with the bereaved family, Abdullah prayed for peace to the departed soul. Rai was born in Bhangal village of Reasi district on June 13, 1923 and was elected as Member of the Constituent Assembly in 1951. In a joint statement issued here today the J&K National Conference leaders of Jammu province have expressed grief over the sad demise of Mansukh Raj, member of the then J&K Constituent Assembly and father of Jagjeevan Lal, former Minister. Late Mansukh Raj was also a signatory to the J&K Constitution. The NC leaders conveyed their heartfelt condolences to Jagjeevan Lal and prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
