Senior Citizens Club (Regd) Udhampur celebrates 6th Raising Day

UDHAMPUR, Aug 21: The Senior Citizens Club (Regd) Udhampur celebrated its 6th Raising Day today with great enthusiasm and community participation. The highlight of the celebration was a Free Medical Camp organized by AYUSH, headed by Dr. Prince Gupta, which witnessed a large turnout of senior citizens and members of the general public.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Wachespati, a renowned personality from Udhampur. A proud moment came when Dr. Ridham, Gold Medalist in Master of Veterinary Services, was honored as the 'Daughter of Soil'. Many NGOs and social workers were also felicitated for their selfless service.
Adding to the occasion, children of Brahmrishi Bawra School gave a heart-touching national theme performance, while children of Jagriti Bal Niketan Ashram, Udhampur showcased Yoga Asanas, receiving wide appreciation from the audience.
In his brief presidential address, Sh. Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, President of the Club, said: "This day reminds us of our duty to keep senior citizens respected, healthy, and connected with society. I thank our Chief Guest, AYUSH team, honored guests, and the children whose performances touched every heart."
The celebrations saw active participation from all branch presidents of the Club - Ramnagar, Chenani, and Majalta - along with their members, which reflected the unity and growing strength of the Senior Citizens movement across the district.
Chief guest Dr. Wachespati in his message said: "The Senior Citizens Club (Regd) Udhampur has truly established itself as a symbol of service to society. Its efforts to keep senior citizens respected, active, and engaged while spreading the message of health, values, and unity are highly commendable.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all office bearers, members, and supporters of the Club and wish that this noble journey continues with greater strength."
The program was smoothly anchored by Raj Guru, General-Secretary of Club who presented the annual report of Club. The program concluded with a message of harmony, health, and inclusivity - true to the vision of the Senior Citizens Club (Regd) Udhampur.
