| De-weeding of Tawi ordered | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 5- Chief Engineer, Ravi Tawi Irrigation Complex (RTIC) Jammu, B. R. Dogra who conducted tour of main Tawi canal to inspect the development works and its distributaries has issued instructions for clearing the weed from the canal immediately.
Superintending Engineer Mechanical I&FC Circle, Jammu informed that mechanical equipments installed at Tawi pump house are fully functional and ready to meet the demand for coming Kharief irrigation season. He informed that the distribution network of Tawi Lift Canal is almost cleared/ free from silt, mulba and at certain patches weed clearance is required.
Instructions were issued by the Chief Engineer at village Karyal Brahmana to clear the weed from the channel immediately. He asked the Ziladar and Patwaris concerned to assess the requirement of irrigation water in the command of main Tawi canal and place necessary indent of water with the Executive Engineer TDC Division, Jammu enabling him to initiate advance action. The Chief Engineer also conducted tour of tail portions of the distributaries and minors and interacted with the beneficiaries to ascertain their views regarding availability of irrigation water at tail portion during peak Kharief irrigation season.
Dogra called upon the field engineers to work with sincerity, dedication and maintain strict quality control. Revenue field staff of the department was impressed upon to record crop details on regular basis and ensure submission of parcha-pansalnawees on daily basis in the office of Executive Engineer/ Ziladar.
