| Delegation of flour millers met with Sat Sharma | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 21: A delegation of flour millers led by Sh.Anil Gupta Sr.Vice President Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with Sh. Sat Sharma Ji President of Bhartiya Janta Party J&K UT & presented a memorandum relating problems faced by flour millers in J&K. There are near about 100 flour mills in J&K. Jammu is a consuming state & wheat crop in Jammu helps millers to run their mills on local wheat crops hardly 2 months.Rest of 10 months Millers purchase wheat from Punjab paying 6% Mandi fee to Punjab Government. Giving benefit to their Mills Govt exempts mills in Punjab from 6% Mandi fees & mills in Punjab sells their finished products in north India & especially in Punjab.Jammu millers are going in bad condition & are in a closure position. Jammu Flour Mills are providing jobs near to 10000 peoples.Flour Millers in J&K have requested BJP UT President Sh.Sat Sharma Ji to take this issue of 6% Mandi Fee with Punjab Government or impose a 6% entry tax to finished products produced by flour mills outside J&K UT at Lakhanpur.
