Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 23: In a swift and commendable action, Police Station City Jammu has solved a snatching case within days, recovering stolen gold earrings worth Rs 59,000 and arresting the accused. On 20.08.2025, complainant Ramesh Sharma S/o Mohan Lal Sharma R/o Gandu Di Chawani reported at Police Post Residency Road, an unidentified person forcibly snatched gold earrings from his 75-year-old ailing mother while she was sitting in the veranda of her residence. The accused fled the spot immediately. Acting promptly, FIR No. 53/2025 U/S 332(C)/304 BNS was registered at Police Station City, and investigation was set in motion. Through tireless efforts, sustained surveillance, and technical assistance, the police team led by SHO Police Station City, Inspector Shakti Devi, along with PSI Samriti Sharma and her team, under the close supervision of SDPO City North Jammu and overall guidance of SP City North Jammu, successfully apprehended the accused. The accused has been identified as Rozer Walter S/o Joy Walter R/o H.No.104 Christian Colony, Jammu. On sustained questioning, he confessed to the crime. The stolen gold earrings valued at ?59,000 were recovered from his possession. Further investigation is underway to ascertain his involvement in other similar offences. Jammu Police reiterates its commitment to act firmly against criminals and ensure the safety of citizens, especially the elderly and vulnerable sections of society. |
