Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 23: Continuing its sustained efforts to curb the drug menace, Jammu Police, South Zone, achieved a breakthrough with the arrest of two drug peddlers and recovery of a heroin-like substance. The operation was carried out under the supervision of SP South, SDPO City East and SHO Police Station Bahu Fort. During routine patrolling duties, a police team from Police Post Narwal, led by its Incharge and assisted by other officials, intercepted two suspicious individuals near Railway Pulli, Narwal. On questioning, the suspects were identified as: oAashiq Hussain S/o Abdul Amjeed R/o Anantnag, Larnoo A/p Sidhra Majeen, District Jammu oRaj Mohd S/o Saif Ali R/o Chak Manga Gujraa, District Samba On their personal search, police recovered approximately 41 grams of heroin-like substance from their possession. In this connection, a case FIR No. 259/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort, and both accused have been taken into custody for further investigation. Jammu Police reiterates its unwavering commitment to rid society of the scourge of drugs.
