FICCI FLO JKL hosts second "Skill to Scale" workshop | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 23: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh (JKL) successfully conducted the second edition of its "Skill to Scale Workshop" aimed at empowering women from self-help groups and local cooperatives in the Muthi area. This workshop was organized under the leadership of Aarti Chowdhary, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL, who has been spearheading initiatives to foster women's economic empowerment in the region. This phase of the workshop adopted a "Train the Trainers" model, where 20 women leaders and heads of SHGs were specially trained to further impart knowledge and skills within their respective groups, multiplying the impact of the initiative. The session was led by Iruvanthika Chowdhary, who imparted hands-on training in flower-making using scraps of Katrana cloth. The exercise not only promoted upcycling and creativity but also highlighted opportunities for income generation through handcrafted products. Speaking on the occasion, Aarti Chowdhary said that such initiatives are crucial in equipping women with sustainable livelihood skills, fostering self-reliance, and creating a ripple effect of empowerment at the grassroots level. She added that FLO JKL will continue to design and deliver programs that strengthen women's entrepreneurial spirit and community collaboration. With this workshop, she reaffirmed her commitment to nurturing women's entrepreneurship, fostering collaboration, and building self-reliant communities across the region. The workshop was met with enthusiastic participation, as women expressed confidence in passing on their learnings to larger groups in their communities. |
