Special Lok Adalat: 24123 cases settled in Jammu District | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 23: In Compliance to the directions of Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority, Special Lok Adalat on Traffic Challans & other Civil Cases was held today under the Chairmanship of Y. P. Bourney, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu in the District Court complex Jammu and other courts of the District. As many as 28 Benches were constituted in the District. Special Lok Adalat focused specifically on the amicable settlement of traffic challans and other civil cases, in line with the broader aim of reducing pendency and promoting accessible justice for all. A total of 43302 cases of different nature were taken up, of which 24153 cases were settled. The total amount of Rs. 85,80,470.91 was recovered. The Special Lok Adalat stands as a testimony to the commitment of the Legal Services Authorities to ensure that justice is not only delivered, but delivered efficiently, empathetically, and economically. It also reinforces the importance of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in strengthening the justice delivery system. |
