| Workshop on Flagship Schemes Organised at GDC Neeli Nallah | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 26: Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with the NSS Unit of Government Degree College, Neeli Nallah, organised a "Workshop on Flagship Schemes" to create awareness among youth about various government initiatives. The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora, Principal GDC Neeli Nallah, as the Chief Guest. The workshop featured five distinguished resource persons, Mr. Arshad Noomani (JKAS), AD DIC Udhampur, who highlighted entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities under PMEGP, Startup India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat. He also made the participants aware about various career opportunities thay can pursue according to their interests and qualification.
It was followed by the lecture of Dr. Sudesh, District Health Officer, who elaborated on health-related initiatives like Ayushman Bharat - PMJAY, National TB Elimination Programme, and Janani Suraksha Yojana. Mr. Ankesh Kumar, PSI, spoke on Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, Community Policing and awareness about Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Ms. Pooja Jamwal, Gender Specialist, Mission Shakti explained women empowerment schemes such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, One Stop Centre Scheme, and Sakhi programmes under Mission Shakti. Mr. Asif Beig, Accounts Assistant, discussed social security and welfare initiatives like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM Ujjwala Yojana, and PM Jan Dhan Yojana.
The programme was presided over by Mr. Khushal Gupta, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Udhampur, and Ms. Shaista Yasmeen, Programme Officer, NSS. Interactive sessions and group discussions were held with the students, who actively participated and clarified their queries.
At the conclusion, mementoes were presented to all guests and speakers, and certificates were distributed among the participants. The event ended with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Souravdeep Singh, APA, MY Bharat Udhampur.
