| ‘Jammu forest getting naked’ | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 6: Every year green gold of the state in shrinking and the government doing nothing to protect it said, Anil Sharma, of Jai Jawan Jai Kissan area development committee here today. He said since April 26, 2009 forest of Bahu fort and Jandhrah range are on fire and the authorities are in deep slumber and added such fire incidence have become regular feature in the entire state. He said staff of the department from top to bottom have let losse a reign of deforestation and also encourage loot of cutting trees illegally. Sharma appealed to the state chief minister Omar Abdullah and forest minister to take personal interest in saving the green gold of the state. He also demanded to hold probe with regard to frequent fire in forests and take action against the culprits. Among others present were Onkar Singh, Vinod Shastri, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Ram Paul Sharma, Mohd. Saleem, Ashok Bhagat and Munshi Ram.
