| Seen an illegal construction, call 2571308 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 6: The Jammu Municipal Corporation while accelerating the campaign against unauthorized cum illegal constructions has setup a control room with Helpline and a dedicated Telephone No. 2571308 to register the complaints from the general public and the authorities regarding unauthorized construction. The control room will be function during office hours as well as after office hours and the enforcement staff along with a vehicle shall be available at a short notice to respond on a receipt of such complaints. All complaints received shall be diarized properly to monitor and follow up action on daily basis by the Sr. officers of the corporations.
Commissioner, Jammu Municipal corporation an a meeting with the officers of the Enforcement Wing and conveyed strict directions to respond and react immediately to take prompt action against offenders for indulging illegal construction and encroachments. Commissioner also inspected ongoing works, being executed by the Engineering Wing of the Corporation as well as Sewerage and Drainage Division, at Trikuta Nagar, Sainik Colony, Circular Road, Panjthirthi etc. and directed the Executive Engineer concerned to expedite the works while maintaining the quality of works as per standard specifications. He also reviewed the progress of BSUP project at Sunjwan. The site of the project where 16 blocks of buildings shall be constructed have been leveled satisfactorily and the works of blocks to be constructed is being allotted to the contractors shortly.
The commissioner also visited Nai Basti, Rampura along with Corporator Pawan Singh and listened to the grievances of the public. He directed the Chief Transport Officer of Compost Wing of the Corporation to clear the deep drains, filled up with silt and garbage which are likely to cause health hazard. Similarly the Executive Engineer Sewerage and Drainage has also been asked to take up the repair of deep drains before the ensuing Monsoon in these areas.
