PM Modi stands firm on India’s Unity, progress amid US Trade Tariff challenges: Rohiin Chandan
8/31/2025 7:12:31 PM

early times report

Jammu,Aug 31: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rohiin Chandan today reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment to India’s unity, progress, and sovereignty in the face of escalating trade tensions with the United States.
Addressing the recent imposition of a 50% tariff on Indian exports by U.S. President Donald Trump, Chandan emphasized that PM Modi remains steadfast in prioritizing the interests of every section of Indian society, refusing to be swayed or suppressed by external pressures.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a leader dedicated to the unity and progress of our nation.
He will not be coerced or intimidated by the tariffs imposed by President Trump,” Chandan declared.
“PM Modi’s decisions are guided solely by what is in the best interest of India and its people.
He is committed to safeguarding the livelihoods of our farmers, small entrepreneurs, and every citizen, ensuring that India’s economic and strategic autonomy remains intact.”
Chandan highlighted India’s growing stature as a global economic powerhouse, noting that India, the world’s fifth-largest economy, and China, the second-largest, represent formidable forces in the global market.
“Together, India and China are reshaping the global economic landscape,” he said.
“The coordination and strategic partnerships PM Modi has fostered with nations like China, Russia, and others signal India’s resolve to assert its position on the world stage. President Trump’s tariffs may be an attempt to exert pressure, but India, under PM Modi’s leadership, will respond at the appropriate time with strength and dignity.”
He underscored that PM Modi’s recent diplomatic engagements, including his participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in China and discussions with global leaders, reflect India’s proactive approach to countering unilateral trade measures. “PM Modi’s vision for a self-reliant India, or Atmanirbhar Bharat, is not just a slogan but a roadmap for progress,” Chandan stated.
“His leadership ensures that India will not bow to external pressures but will instead strengthen its domestic industries, explore alternative markets, and deepen ties with strategic partners.”
Chandan also pointed to PM Modi’s public assurances to protect India’s farmers, fishermen, and small-scale industries, as evidenced by his recent statements in Ahmedabad and New Delhi. “PM Modi has made it clear that he will stand like a wall to defend the interests of our people, even if it comes at a personal cost,” he said, referencing Modi’s resolve to withstand economic pressures while promoting Swadeshi (Made in India) goods.
In a message of optimism, Chandan expressed confidence that India’s response to the U.S. tariffs would be strategic and impactful. “Under PM Modi’s leadership, India will not only weather these challenges but emerge stronger.
The world will witness India’s resilience and progress, and every Indian will benefit from the opportunities created through his visionary governance,” he concluded.
