(JKDFA) expresses deep concern over the devastating impact of the recent heavy rains and flooding | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 31: The Jammu & Kashmir Dairy Farmers Association (JKDFA) expresses deep concern over the devastating impact of the recent heavy rains and flooding in Jammu, which has caused widespread destruction and loss of livestock. 1. Cattle Loss Declared as National Disaster The unprecedented floods have led to the tragic death of large numbers of cattle, leaving dairy farmers in distress. JKDFA appeals to both the Union Government and the Government of Jammu & Kashmir to declare this calamity as a National Disaster, ensuring immediate relief, compensation, and long-term rehabilitation measures for affected farmers. 2. Feed & Fodder Shortage With road connectivity severely hampered, there is a critical shortage of feed and fodder supplies across several districts. JKDFA urges authorities to restore connectivity at the earliest and arrange for emergency feed and Fodder (Wheat Straw and Corn silage) distribution to prevent further livestock suffering. 3. Termination of Ex. President and some Members for Anti-Association Activities In order to protect the integrity of the Association, the Ex-President Sandeep Singh Chib and certain members name Vikas Jolly and Sahid Afzal have been officially terminated from JKDFA due to their involvement in anti-association activities and misuse of finances that undermined unity and collective progress. 4. Misuse of JKDFA Title by Terminated Members It has come to the notice of the Association that some terminated individuals continue to misuse the JKDFA title for personal and misleading purposes. JKDFA strongly condemns such actions and warns that strict legal and organizational steps will be taken against any unauthorized use of its name. 5. Reconstitution of JKDFA The Association has been reconstituted with a renewed leadership team, committed to transparency, accountability, and strengthening the voice of dairy farmers across Jammu & Kashmir. 6. Pashu Mela 2025 - 3rd Edition JKDFA is pleased to announce the 3rd Edition of the Pashu Mela to be held in November 2025. This flagship event will provide a unique platform for farmers, veterinarians, agri-entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge, explore innovations, and promote livestock development in the region. |
