Poonch, Sept 2: A deputation of the Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM), Poonch Unit, led by District President Jeevan Prakash and District General Secretary Sanjeev Sharma, today met Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch, Mukhtar Manhas, and congratulated him on his posting to the district. During the meeting, the deputation highlighted several crucial issues concerning the teaching community. They strongly advocated for the modification of genuine transfer cases, pointing out that many teachers who have already rendered more than seven years of service in remote and odd areas have once again been transferred to far-flung zones. The leaders also expressed concern that some female teachers have been posted in highly inaccessible areas, where they are forced to walk long distances through difficult terrain, creating serious challenges for their safety and professional responsibilities. Another major issue raised was that of single-teacher schools, with the delegation demanding that every primary school must have a minimum of two teachers to ensure proper academic functioning and improvement in the quality of education. The CEO listened to the deputation sympathetically and assured that all genuine cases would be duly considered for modification. He further committed that no school in the district will remain single-teacher, and at least two teachers will be placed in each primary school. The deputation members included Darshan Kumar, JKUT Senior Vice President, Smt. Vijaygeeta, Ravinder Varma, Hardit Singh, Deepak Raina, Deepak Sharma, Naresh Varma, Yogesh Kumar,Ajay Maini, Tariq Chugtai, Yougal Kishore, Dr. Antima Sharma, Nisha Sharma, Guneet Kour, Nitin Sharma, Sunny Khajuria, and Chhatarpal Singh and others. The ABRSM leaders expressed full faith in the CEO’s working and assured complete cooperation in improving the education standards in Poonch district.
