POONCH, Sept 6: The Ganesh Visarjan festival was celebrated in Poonch with great religious fervor, enthusiasm and cultural spirit. Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police, Shafket Hussain Bhatt, ADDC Poonch, Pankaj Magotra, ADC Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik, ASP Poonch, Mohan Lal besides other administrative and police officers also took part in the yatra. They greeted the devotees and extended their wishes on the occasion, appreciating the communal harmony and active participation of the people in ensuring a peaceful and joyous celebration. Marking the culmination of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, a grand Shoba Yatra was organized, drawing a large number of devotees from across the district. The vibrant procession commenced from Shiv Temple Power House and concluded at Pulast river near S.K. Bridge Poonch, resonating with the chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya.” Devotees participated in large numbers, dancing and singing devotional songs, creating an atmosphere of devotion and unity. The district administration ensured all necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the event including security, traffic management and cleanliness drives. The event concluded with the immersion of Lord Ganesha idols, symbolizing the end of the ten-day festival and invoking hopes for peace, prosperity and unity in the region. |
