Gupta led NC delegation participated in Eid-e-Milad Procession at Dansal | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 6: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President, Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta led a party delegation to Dansal Jammu, where they participated in the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) procession organized by DDC Dhansal Shameem Begum. Accompanied by senior leaders and YNC functionaries including Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell, Tejindar Pal Singh Aman Provincial President YNC Jammu, Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Balwan Singh, Siraj Din Sarpanch and Block President Dansal and others, Gupta extended warm greetings to the Muslim community on the auspicious occasion. On this occasion, Mr Gupta said the strength of India's unity in diversity, saying, "This country belongs to everyone irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or language." He said the message of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), which underscores virtues like patience, justice, and equality, should serve as a guiding principle for all. He praised Jammu's long-standing tradition of celebrating festivals of all faiths with mutual respect and harmony, calling it "a glowing example of the country's secular and spiritual fabric." He assured that the National Conference will continue to nurture and uphold these inclusive values. Later, the delegation visited Badsoo and Chadali of Nagrota Constituency along with Shameem Begum, DDC Dansal nearby villages affected by recent weather fury including landslides, floods, and land sinking to assess the damage and interact with local residents. Gupta expressed deep concern after witnessing the widespread devastation, including destroyed homes, washed-out roads, and lost livestock and crops. "What we've seen in Dansal villages is a mirror of what the entire Jammu division is going through," Gupta said. "From schools to highways and hospitals, everything in the path of the floods has been devastated. Many houses are no longer livable. The losses are in crores and crores, and no quick fix can undo this destruction." He urged the Central Government to announce a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation package for the Jammu division, adding that the ongoing efforts by the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference must be supported with substantial central funding. Concerned Revenue Officials were also present at this spot for assessing the losses caused by flood and landslide. Gupta appreciated Revenue Officials for their ongoing efforts to provide immediate relief to the affected families. He called on the administration to relocate displaced families to temporary shelters until a proper rehabilitation plan is finalized. "The present locations are unsafe and unfit for reconstruction. Authorities must identify stable land to ensure the long-term safety of affected residents," he added. |
