| BJP opposes Muslims in SASB committee | | | Early Times report
Jammu, May 7- Lila Karan Sharma, former Convenor and Member Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti and BJP candidate for Jammu-Poonch constituency, has taken strong exceptions of the constitution of the Advisory Committee of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board by the Governor, by including four Muslims- Abdul Kaliq Wangnoo, Lateef Ahmed Bhat, Jabbar Malik and Mubeen Shah in the said Advisory Committee.
In a statement issued here today he said it was the move of the Governor and demand of the Kashmiri leaders to include Muslims in the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board which was resisted by the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti during agitation and now they have conspired and invented a noble procedure to include them by constituting an Advisory Committee. This is a step- in- aid to include Muslims in the Shrine Board sooner or later and the evil has to be nipped in bud, he said and cautioned the people to get ready to resist the nefarious move of the Governor, who is under pressure of the separatist forces of the valley.
Lila Karan Sharma said that the Governor should not force the people to take agitational path and should immediately reconstitute the Advisory Committee.
In box: Four Kashmiri Muslim-Abdul Khaliq Wangnoo, Lateef Ahmed Bhatt, jabber Malik and Mubeen Shah- have been included by the Governor in 13 member SASB Advisory Committee which is scheduled to have its first meeting tomorrow.
