Jammu, Sept 7: Railway traffic was affected due to heavy rains and flood-like situation in Jammu division of Northern Railway. But under the guidance and leadership of Divisional Railway Manager of Jammu Division, Shri Vivek Kumar, with the vigilance of all the officers of the division, the passengers stranded in Jammu, who had come to visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, were safely transported to their destination station. In which special trains were also operated for the passengers and adequate arrangements of food and water were made for the passengers at every important railway station like Katra, Jammu, Pathankot, Manwal etc. and special trains were also operated in the division. But at present, due to the continuous rain in Jammu and Kashmir, the road traffic there is very much affected. In view of this situation, once again keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers, today on 6th September 2025, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager of Jammu Division, Mr. Vivek Kumar and as per the directions of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of the division, Mr. Uchit Singhal and Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Mr. Arish Bansal, it has been decided to run a local train from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Sangaldan for the next 5 days from 8th September 2025 to 12th September 2025. With this positive decision, immediate relief will be provided to the people and passengers trapped in the floods during the rainy season.
* Train number- 04685/04686 is being run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra- Sangaldan Katra.
Train number 04685 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra- Sangaldan Badh Special will be run for 5 days from 8th September to 12th September. In which this train will leave from Katra at 8:40 am and reach Sangaldan at 10:00 am. On the way, this train will stop at stations like Reasi, Bakkal, Dugga, Sawalkot etc. Similarly, train number 04686 will run between Sangaldan and Katra, which will leave from Sangaldan at 14.15 pm and reach Katra at 15.45 pm. The stoppages of this train will be the same as train number 04685.
On the operation of this special trains, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Uchit Singhal and Senior Divisional Operations Manager Mr. Arish Bansal said that the safety and convenience of passengers in the division is our top priority, due to the suspension of road services in Sangaldan and Katra area, this special train will provide an important option to the people to ensure safe and efficient travel and such initiatives will be taken from time to time, so that the journey can be made accessible and comfortable for the passengers.
