Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 8: Leader of Opposition (LOP) J&K Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma along with MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta, today inaugurated a medical camp for flood-affected people at the Panchayat Ghar, Trilokpur, Ward No. 32, in Jammu West Assembly constituency. The camp was organized to provide essential health check-ups, medicines, and counseling to families impacted by the recent floods. Addressing the gathering, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma also interacted with the affected families and assured them of all possible help. He said, "We understand the pain and hardship the people have gone through due to floods. Medical care is the first and most urgent need, and we will continue to hold such camps until the situation normalizes. We are determined to provide long-term relief and support, ensuring that no family feels left behind." Sharma added that community participation and collective responsibility are vital in overcoming such crises. MLA Arvind Gupta said that the initiative was in line with the directions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who during his recent visit to Jammu emphasized that "medical camps should be set up in every ward to extend timely healthcare to the flood-affected people." Gupta further stated, "Our priority is to stand shoulder to shoulder with the affected families. The government and local leadership are committed to ensuring that relief, medical aid, and rehabilitation support reach every corner of Jammu West. Such medical camps will continue to be organized in the future as well to address the needs of the affected." The camp witnessed a good turnout, with doctors and paramedical staff providing free consultations and distributing medicines. The leaders appreciated the medical teams for their dedicated service. The camp was also attended by District President Rajesh Gupta, Mandal President Anil Angral, Kushant Daffara, Dy. Mayor Dharam Veer Singh Jamwal, District General Secretary Ravikant Sharma, Former Sarpanch Rajkumar Sharma, Former Sarpanch Pritpal Singh, Former Sarpanch Avinash Singh, and senior leaders including Keshav Chopra, Satya Bhushan Dubey, Ramesh Kumar, Mohit Vaid, Anil Singh Rakwal, Ganesh Kumar, Ravinder Khajuria, Arun Sharma, Sonu Manhas, Rohit Gupta, Renu Sharma, Mangal Singh Chib, and Sanjay Chib. Residents expressed gratitude to the leadership for extending timely medical assistance, noting that such initiatives ease the hardships of flood-affected families and bring hope during challenging times. |
