9/9/2025 6:32:09 PM

Early times report

Udhampur, Sept 9: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Mrs. Saloni Rai (IAS), a special relief operation was carried out today in the far-flung and difficult terrain of Ladha village, Tehsil Udhampur. Tehsildar Udhampur, Sh. Jai Singh, along with his dedicated revenue field staff, undertook the visit to assess the ground situation in the wake of recent floods and incessant rains that have severely impacted the region.
During the visit, the team interacted with the affected families and took note of the damage caused by the natural calamity. Many houses had been partially or completely damaged, forcing several families to vacate their homes and take shelter in temporary arrangements. Recognizing the immediate needs of the victims, the tehsil administration promptly distributed relief material, which included ration kits, blankets, tents/tarpaulins, and other essential supplies. These measures were aimed at ensuring that the displaced families did not face scarcity of food, shelter, or basic necessities during this testing period.
A total of forty affected families were provided assistance on the spot. While handing over the relief material, Tehsildar Jai Singh assured the villagers that the administration is fully committed to extending all possible help. He reiterated that under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner, every effort will be made to mitigate the hardships faced by the people and to restore normalcy in the area at the earliest.
The affected families expressed gratitude to the district administration for their timely intervention and compassionate approach. The initiative reflected the administration’s commitment to reach out to people living in remote and inaccessible areas, ensuring that no one is left unattended in times of crisis.
The relief distribution drive has brought a ray of hope to the distressed families of Ladha, instilling confidence that the administration stands firmly with them in overcoming this calamity
