Jammu, Sept 10: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Jammu Division, under the leadership of Sh. Shantmanu (IAS), Director SCERT J&K, and the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director SCERT Jammu, inaugurated a two-day Training-cum-Orientation Programme , organised by the department of Population Education, Girls’ Education, ECCE and Education for all, for District Nodal Officers (DNOs) and Zonal Nodal Officers (ZNOs) of NIPUN Bharat, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), and Vidya Pravesh at SCERT Jammu on September 10, 2025, with the aim of strengthening foundational learning at the grassroots level.
The event was inaugurated with solemn dignity by Ms Anmol Rathore, IAS, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, alongside Worthy Joint Director, SCERT, Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Heads of Academic Units, Coordinator and participants, marking the formal commencement of the proceedings. The inaugural ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, signifying wisdom and enlightenment.
Dr. Sanjeevani, Head ECCE, Programme Coordinator, extended a heartfelt welcome to the gathering and presented the concept note, setting the tone for the event. Worthy Joint Director SCERT Jammu Division, delivered an insightful address, emphasizing the significance of foundational learning as the cornerstone of quality education and sustainable academic growth. Addressing the participants, Chief Guest Ms. Anmol Rathore(IAS), underlined the crucial role of District and Zonal Nodal Officers in translating the vision of NIPUN Bharat into effective practice at the field level. She encouraged participants to embrace their responsibilities with commitment and to work collectively towards ensuring universal foundational literacy and numeracy.
The inaugural session drew to a close with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Ms Manu Vasudeva, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, resource persons, and participants for their contribution to making the programme a meaningful endeavour.
Following the inauguration, the technical sessions began where Mr. Anil Sharma, Associate Coordinator, deliberated on NEP/NCF-FS/NIPUN Bharat/FLN, succeeded by sessions on Organizing Pre-Primary Classrooms by Ms. Geeta Bharti, and Jaadui Pitara by Mr. Anil Sharma and Ms. Meena Thakur. The sessions were aimed at equipping participants with practical strategies for classroom implementation. A committee comprising Ms Shazia, Dr Bhuvi, Ms Rukhsana, Ms Kamini, Ms Neeraj and Ms Meena Thakur, substantially contributed to the success of the event.Mr. Yugal Kishore and Mr. Anil Sharma handled all the technical aspects with finesse.
The orientation programme seeks to empower DNOs and ZNOs with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to serve as effective monitors and mentors in their respective districts and zones. The two-day programme will continue on September 11, 2025, with further sessions on foundational literacy, numeracy, Vidya Pravesh, and post-assessment activities.
