Kathua police attach moveable property bovine smuggler

KATHUA, Sept 10: In a major crackdown under the provisions of the newly enacted criminal laws Kathua Police have attached a vehicle identified as proceeds of crime in connection with a bovine smuggling case.
The vehicle, a Truck * bearing registration number *JK18-8668 is registered in the name of Mudasir Ahmad S/O Sona Ullah Bhat R/O, Check 1, Budwani Qazikund,near Masjid Kulgam, District Kulgam. At the time of the incident, it was being driven by his driver namely Mohd.Rafi S/O Manzoor Husain R/O Jakhar Gandala Udhampur.
The case is registered under FIR No.112/2024 U/S 223/325/BNS, 11 PCA Act 3/181/MV Act at Police Station Billawar
During the course of the investigation, the vehicle was found to have been repeatedly used in the commission of bovine smuggling offenses and the said vehicle has also been involved in several such cases concerning the illegal transportation of bovine animals.
Following due legal procedures and after obtaining the necessary orders from the Hon'ble Court JMIC Billawar the vehicle was attached under Section 107 read with section 6 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
The entire exercise was carried out by the *SHO Billawar Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of Sp Ops Upper Kathua Sh Aumir Iqbal and SDPO Billawar Neeraj Padyar and over all supervision of worthy SSP Kathua Shobit Saksena-IPS
The Kathua Police have reiterated their firm commitment to cracking down on bovine smuggling and other criminal activities, utilizing the strengthened legal provisions under the new criminal codes to ensure swift and effective justice.
