Reasi, May 8- To review the pace of ongoing development works in different areas of Reasi district, the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Reasi, Sanjeev Verma conducted a two-days hectic tour of Bhabbar, Dera Baba, Mansoo, Kanjli, Tanda, Pouni, JD, Dadoa, Laiter and Bhambla areas of the Reasi district.
During tour of Dera Baba and Kanjli areas, the DDC inspected a number of Anganwari centers functioning in the area. He took serious note of poor attendance in the Anganwari Centers and directed the District Social Welfare Officer, Reasi, who is also holding the charge of Program Officer, ICDS to rationalize the attendance at all the Anganwari Centers set up in the district.
While inspecting the development works initiated under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) at various places of Bhabbar, Kanjli, Mansoo Pouni, Dadoa, Laiter and Bhambla, the DDC asked the concerned BDOs to speed up the works and provide wage employment to the job card holders in time.
To have on the spot assessment of horticulture plantation and other related works, Verma stressed upon the need for undertaking more plantations at all the respective areas as per the available potential for socio-economic upliftment of weaker sections of the society. He directed the Chief Horticulture Officer to prepare action plan in this regard and also organize awareness programmes about latest technical know-how in the field of horticulture for the general public.
