Kathua, Sept 11: Continuing humanitarian efforts in flood-affected areas of Kathua district, the Sh. Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Trust on Wednesday distributed relief material among victims in several villages of Hira Nagar tehsil. The relief operation was carried out with the facilitation of Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, and SDM Hira Nagar, Phulail Singh, who supervised the identification of families worst-hit by the recent floods. Trustees of the Memorial Trust, Smt. Nidhi Dogra Sharma, daughter of Late Sh. Girdhari Lal Dogra, and Sh. Munish Dogra, personally led the distribution drive. The material was handed out in villages including Koota, Saida, Hira Nagar, Londi, Mathra Chak, Haria Chak, Chabbe Chak, Kote Punnu, and other affected areas. As part of the initiative, the Trust also handed over a relief material-laden vehicle to the DC Kathua for further distribution across the district, ensuring that aid reaches those in need beyond Hira Nagar tehsil. Speaking on the occasion, the trustees reiterated the Trust’s commitment to carry forward the legacy of Late Sh. Girdhari Lal Dogra, who dedicated his life to public service and welfare of the people. Locals expressed gratitude to the district administration and the Memorial Trust for extending timely support at a time when many families are struggling with the aftermath of the floods.
