REASI, Sept 11: As part of the enhanced security arrangements ahead of the Navratra festival, District Police Reasi intensified checking and deployed a flash naka at Hari Singh Chowk near Railway Station Katra.
During the naka checking, the police team from Police Station Katra intercepted two suspects, identified as Sunny S/O Rakesh R/O Baghpat (U.P.) and Rahul S/O Ramniwas R/O Sonipat (Haryana), who were moving on foot from the railway station towards Varun Chowk.
On thorough checking, the police recovered 477 grams of ganja (narcotic contraband) and 1000 capsules of Pregabalin (psychotropic substance) from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 253/2025 U/S 8/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra. Further investigation is underway to trace the backward and forward linkages of the smuggling network.
The whole operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO P/S Katra Insp. Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran-JKPS.
