| Social Welfare Department Poonch organises Volleyball & Skit under Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign | | |

Poonch, Sept 12: The Social Welfare Department Poonch organised an exhibition volleyball match and a skit performance under the campaign “Nasha Mukt Bharat”. The initiative combined the energy of sports with the impact of culture to spread awareness against drug abuse.
The event was graced by Hon’ble MLA Haveli, Shri Ajaz Ahmed Jan as Chief Guest and Addl SP Shri Mohan Lal Sharma as Guest of Honour.
The volleyball match between the Shaheed Manjeet Singh Volleyball Club and the Poonch Volleyball Club enthralled the crowd, while a thought provoking skit supervised by Mr. Pardeep Khanna highlighted the dangers of drug abuse.
District Social Welfare Officer, Sh. Khalil A. Banday, stressed that the department’s motive is to “generate awareness among people, especially youth, so society can be safeguarded from the destructive grip of drugs.”
On this occasion, Hon’ble MLA, Shri Ajaz Ahmed Jan, praised the efforts of DSWO Sh. Khalil A. Banday, Chairman Shaheed Manjeet Singh Volleyball Club Sh. Tarik Khan, and noted anchor Mr. Pardeep Khanna for their contribution. The MLA added that “such events are vital for youth and society as they spread awareness, promote healthy lifestyles, and inspire collective responsibility against the menace of drugs.”
The programme saw enthusiastic participation of civil society members, members of the Bar, athletes, sportspersons, and youth from across Poonch, reflecting the district’s united stand for a drug-free India.
