| Bhim for general amnesty to political prisoners | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 8- Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party Chief, Prof Bhim Singh, while campaigning for his party candidate Mohammed Iqbal Jan, currently under detention in Tijar Jail and contesting as party candidate from Baramulla Parliamentary constituency, has urged the Government of India to issue general amnesty to the political prisoners of Jammu and Kashmir, rehabilitate orphaned and handicapped youth. Addressing series of election meetings at Singpora, Pattan and Magham in Baramulla District today Prof Singh also demanded opening LoC for political, cultural and social exchange for politicians, artists and students with passports between the people of the two sides of Jammu and Kashmir. Prof Singh appealed the people of Baramulla Constituency to vote for a prisoner to express their support and solidarity with the suffering people of Kashmir Valley who have been denied justice. Hr accused the NC-Congress government for using authoritarian rule to detain angry Kashmiri leaders in their houses instead of facing them on opened public platform with reason and logic as Panthers Party is doing. The others who addressed the election meetings included, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Provincial President, Kashmir, Abdul Rashid Para, District President Budgam, Abdul Rashid Ganie, District President, Gandherbal, Ghulam Mohammed Bhat, District General Secretary, Baramulla.
