| Jammu Police, achieved major success- commercial quantity of Heroin Seized | | |

jammu, Sept 12: In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, Jammu Police, South Zone has achieved a significant success by seizing 258 grams approx. of heroin (chitta) during naka checking at Purmandal Morh, Jammu, thereby preventing a huge consignment of narcotics from reaching the local market.
During naka checking conducted by Police Station Gangyal, one person identified as Lovish Choudhary S/o Late Paramjeet Choudhary R/o Ramgarh, District Samba, who was traveling from Samba towards Jammu, was intercepted. On search, 258 grams approx. of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 99/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal, and further investigation is underway to unearth the backward and forward linkages of the consignment. This operation was carried out under the close supervision of SHO PS Gangyal, guided by SDPO South, SP South, and overall supervision of SSP Jammu. The recovery of such a commercial quantity of heroin is a big achievement for Jammu Police, South Zone and a major setback to the drug traffickers operating in the region. Jammu Police reiterates its firm resolve to intensify the war against drugs, and strict action shall continue against those indulging in drug trafficking and peddling.
The public is also appealed to extend cooperation by sharing any information regarding drug-related activities. The identity of informants will be kept confidential.
