| Militants kill three of family in Reasi | | Probe into civilian killing by Army | | Early Times report Jammu, May 8: In a shocking incident, a group of heavily armed militants late Thursday night raided Bhandara village in remote Gulabgarh area of Reasi district killing three members of the same family including two male and one female member. According to preliminary police reports, "a group of unidentified militants raided the house of Mohammed Ejaz in village Bhandara and sprayed bullets on family members in which three of them were killed on the spot." The deceased have been identified as Ahmed Din, Ejaz Ahmed and Teja Begum, police reports said. After executing the killings the militants fled the area. Meanwhile, after receiving reports of civilian killings security forces have rushed to the spot to launch a massive man hunt for local militants in the area, police said Meanwhile, barely 12 hours after army personnel killed a civilian in cold blood at Marmath area in Doda, Thursday late evening; Government today ordered a judicial probe into the incident after locals staged protests over the killing. Eyewitnesses said that Mohammad Sadiq, a resident of Chalota Marmath Doda was returning home when personnel from the 10 RR shot him dead ‘allegedly’ in cold blood. The killing sparked protests in the area as people demanded immediate action against the army personnel. SSP, Doda, Prabhat Singh said that Mohammad Sadiq was killed after army and militants exchanged fire resulting in his death. He said that a wanted militant of the Hizbul outfit Javed Qureshi was trapped in the area triggering an encounter between forces and the armed militants. “It was during the encounter that Sadiq lost his life,” the SSP said. Locals alleged that Mohammad Sadiq was returning home late after his treatment in Doda "when army troops shot him dead". He was not feeling well and he had gone to a hospital to get treatment, a villager said. Meanwhile, as the protests by villagers intensified the government ordered a probe into the incident by the additional deputy commissioner of Doda. Army official spokesman said that the incident will be probed by additional deputy commissioner Doda.
